Star High

On my Christmas tree the star high
Glowed blissfully drawing me nigh,
The tree not adorned with silver or gold
But light that gleamed on things of old

From there I went to a place in time
Where out of the east, His star did shine
Through the darkness , while on their quest
Wise men sought Him, they were blessed

They ask whereof our sovereign King
Destiny cries out, glory of salvation sings
Lo, the star, was before them, light of love
Guidance gracefully flowing from above

Entering the dwelling of the young child
Worship took ground ,treasures compiled
From the dream my thoughts immerge nigh
Back to the Christmas tree on the STAR HIGH!

Strokes Of Love

When strokes of love are put upon a page,
It speaks the heart of the one portrayed.
With every brush stroke you tell a story,
Giving God Blessing, Honor and Glory.

Capturing the essence of His nature foretold,
In the harmonizing colors that start to unfold.
Movement of paint, gliding across the canvas time,
Creates a beautiful picture, heavenly designed.

Inspiration can come from most anywhere..
A child in a sandbox, or a town's old time square.
Drive in the country, a picnic at the lake..
Family gathering around for a picture to take.

Or a walk along the beach at night..
Full moon glistening off the water just right.
The soft breeze blowing through your hair..
Just God and you, in the night air.

On the palette of life, arranged and blended,
From Heaven, the pigment of color descended.
Paint strokes from God, dry brush or shading..
The beauty brought forth, always cascading.

When strokes of love are put upon a page,
It speaks the heart of the one portrayed.
The last and final painting to take place,
Is painted on the easel of God’s Grace.

Judy's Hope

Copyright © 2009 Patricia A. Moore
Judy's Hope is meant to encourage all those
who are going through hard times,
and to keep holding on to the Lord......

If I could take the pain and the hurt away
This Lord .. This I would do.
But I can’t change a thing, in their life today
So I’ll cry .. Lord, I’ll cry out to you.

All their hopes and dreams
Seem to go from good to bad
Is there no balm in Gilead.

And the sickness they go through
With no place to turn to
Is there no physician there.

CHORUS:
Yes, the Lord’s in Zion
He’s the balm of Gilead
He’s the greatest Physician
We’ve ever had.

So I’ll cry out to Him
And in faith I’ll believe
He’s the answer to prayer
For you and for me.

He’s the balm of Gilead.

CHORUS:
Yes, the Lord’s in Zion
He’s the balm of Gilead
He’s the greatest Physician
We’ve ever had.

So I’ll cry out to Him
And in faith I’ll believe
He’s the answer to prayer
For you and for me.

He’s the balm of Gilead.

The Voice Of An Angel

Voices of Angels..
Are meant to sing...
When hearing their melody..
Heavenly sounds ring...

Church bell in
The steeple high
Beauty in the tones
Swaying from the sky

Music that’s heard
With the heart
These glorious tunes
God did impart

Like my mom ..
Guitar in hand..
The picture before me..
An angel band..

Patty Ann

Who am I…
That he would care
But just a plain country girl
With long brown hair

My eyes don’t sparkle
Ocean blue
Their homely brown
With a black tea hue

My words are simple
Not refined
Backwood hillbilly
This voice of mine

I don’t put on
Ruby red lips
Just denim jeans
Tight to the hips

An with these
Old boots of mine
I walk the woods
Among the mountain pine

My high society
Social event
La-Tee-Dah
Mending fence

As for my
Elaborate dine
I'll grab that picnic
Basket of mine

Chicken, biscuits
Don’t forget the cokes
Throw a blanket
Under the oak

Here you won’t find
That southern belle
Just little ole me
In a hick-er shell

I’ll be more then happy
To be your friend
This country gal,
Patty Ann

I’ll be more then happy
To be your friend
This country gal,
Patty Ann

Your Arms By Patricia A Moore

Your Arms

Your arms that reach out and hold me tonight
Are the same arms that reached out on the cross
Your love am feeling right now
Is the same love you had when I was lost

In the years be been together
I’ve had my ups and downs
In the storms I did weather
In your arms that are around

Chorus

In your arms…In your arms
There I’ll abide
Beneath the shadow of thy wings
Your loving bride

Verse
You know every part of me
Every secret untold
All the pain and the heartache
From childhood to old

I am ragged and worn
Beauty cast me aside
Yet you hold me in your arms
As your adorned bride

Chorus

In your arms….In your arms
There I’ll abide
Beneath the shadow of thy wings
Your loving bride

Verse
Years have come and gone
Life is fading fast
Till forever in your arms
I will be at last..

My Mountain Wildflower By Patricia A Moore & Colin S Moffett

I guild the Lily of the valley green
Dress the rose with beauty seen
I walk the mountains and the fields
Viewing the hedgerows and see what yields

From seed that was sprinkled from my word
To see who blooms for me the Lord
Whether fallow ground or rocky place
Thou shalt bloom there by my grace

I see you wildflower in the sun of day
Your beauty will add to my bouquet
Or wouldst of me might you ask
Why grow I here, its a difficult task

Why is it so that I am found
Among tall grass and weeds around
Yet of my nectar the humming birds take
Thou hast me here to hunger slake

Yes I have you on the mountain terrain
Or full of blossoms down a country lane
Swaying gently in the wind that blows
Where soft your fragrance lingering flows

For I have planted you where you be
Though the air of simplicity envelops thee
Humble and of glory taking no degree
Yet your petals are used of me

I need the rose and lily too
Dear mountain wildflower also you
To speak of me and show my glory
Every flower I plant tells my story

Then I’ll come some glorious day
To gather up my own bouquet
Roses, lilies help make up the bower
Along with you my Mountain Wildflower

Mountain Promise

To my Baby Boy ( Brian )

© Patricia A. Moore
ALL RIGHTS RESERVED

Chorus:
Your mountains surround
And give me peace to hold
Like rain upon the grass
Watering a weeping soul
Come ye, He’ll let you know
Of the mountain promise
Of long ago.

Verse:
Walking through the mountains
To the valleys I was sent
Bringing me closer to you
Refining me every moment I spent.
A rough terrain
I travel through
Heading to the mountain promise
‘Til I’m at rest with you.

Chorus:
Your mountains surround
And give me peace to hold
Like rain upon the grass
Watering a weeping soul
Come ye, he’ll let you know
Of the mountain promise
Of long ago.

Verse:
Yesterday, today, and tomorrow
He still holds true
That mountain promise
He gave to me and you.

Chorus:
Your mountains surround
And give me peace to hold
Like rain upon the grass
Watering a weeping soul
Come ye, he’ll let you know
Of the mountain promise
Of long ago.
Come ye, he’ll let you know
Of the mountain promise
Of long ago.

Dreamland

Good Morning…Good Night… I sit wide awake
wondering when sleep will visit for my sake
Pondering the question running through me head
Why am I not in that bed..

Tossed and turned till I finally got up
Made a cup of coffee on which I sup
Hearing a sudden sound I turned an spin
There was Sir Colin with dimples and grin

Fair maid why didst thou not sleep
Hast thou forgotten to count the sheep
Or even raccoons in thy head
When thee lay upon thy bed

Mayst I ask the one of noble degree
How many ewes will it take me to see
Are raccoons running up yon pole
Before this answer I woudst know

I will that sugar plums were tossing in mine head
Then I woudst have sweet dreams in me stead
Shall I count backwards from hundred to 0
Then off to dreamland I shoudst go

Last night I didst fine
I went to sleep at the count of nine
Fair maid Patty thou shouldst not weep
I fell over for I talked myself to sleep
I hast come to say some words in thy ear
And dreamland for thee will soon then appear

O let it be of a kings decree
How this Irish poet didst help me
Let it be heard throughout the land
The name of the Bard is Colin Stephen..

"Where Is Your God..... Mother?"

11:45 P.M. : Phone call
When answering the phone
This is what was said…
“Dad let me talk to Mom” ..
The first words I heard were…
“Where is your God .. Mother?”

Where is your God .. Mother?
When I work and work
And can not make ends meet ..
Where do I go .. whom do I seek?

Where is your God … Mother?
Why is He doing this to me?
When I try to make my marriage work
And only trouble do I see.

Where is your God ….Mother?
When after talking to you the other day
I got down on my knees and started to pray
I didn’t see or hear anything ..
All I felt was only pain.

Where is your God .. Mother?
When I went to a Christian school
I get out in the world and money’s what rules
And I feel hate all around
Where is the love .. can it be found?

Where is your God ..Mother?
Please tell me Mom, I need to understand,
Why you believe in a book written by man.
Did someone tell you it was true,
Or did God come to only you?

Let me tell you my baby son
If it was not for God
That phone wouldn’t have rung
And it’s that cry in your heart today
Is why your Mother continues to pray.

Love You my baby boy..
Your Mother..

Lovin You

CHORUS:
Don’t tell me not to love you
Don’t tell me not to care
Don’t tell my heart
There’s no love to share.

Some call me a dreamer
Some say I’m insane
But I’ll keep on loving you
And calling out your name.

VERSE:
What is my purpose
When on earth I abide
If I don’t reach out in love
And just cast you aside.

If I only care
For me and mine
And nothing else mattered
Any other time.

It said in God’s Word
And everything I do
I do unto Him
As I do unto you.

CHORUS:
So don’t tell me not to love you
Don’t tell me not to care
Don’t tell my heart
There’s no love to share.

Some call me a dreamer
Some say I’m insane
But I’ll keep on loving you
And calling out your name.

Ozark Raccoon Yodel

She was sittin’ on the back porch just singing away
When out of the darkness
Came six little friends to play.
They came up one by one
Ralph and Rosie and all their sons.

There was Randy and Roger, Rudy and Roy
With her emotions.. they came to toy.
They heard her singing about God’s love

Then Dudley came out of the dark
And barked and barked
Sending them into the rafters above.

She thought they were cats, but they were raccoons
They just came to eat and listen to her tunes

Dudley left and they came down
She began to sing .. and they gathered around.

Then she stood up and said, “I’m tired you know.
But I’ll give you a Raccoon Yodel before I go.”

Yo delee --- da leddie O
Yo delee da leddie O
Yo delee da leddie, Yo delee da leddie
Yo delee da leddie O

Yo delee --- da leddie O
Yo delee da leddie O

The Only True God

Chorus:
How many gods will we serve
How many ways will we go
Till we come back to the Lord
The only true God that we know.

Verse:
There is but one God … among many
That came for you and for me
There is but one God … among many
That left His throne for Calvary.
He humbled Himself, and became a man
To save us from the gods of this land.

Chorus:
How many gods will we serve
How many ways will we go
Till we come back to the Lord
The only true God that we know.

Verse:
Will we spend our time on things anew
Will He stay THE UNKNOWN GOD to me and you
He’s not in temples
Or worshipped with man’s hands
He’s the Creator of all
On which we stand.

Chorus:
How many gods will we serve
How many ways will we go
Till we come back to the Lord
The only true God that we know.

Lord I Pray

Lord I pray, let these doors, swing wide
And everybody in need of you, bring inside
And let your love flow through me today
For I am your servant, here to obey
Let them know I truly care
For its your love with them I share
Not just some empty words
Tossed about and never heard
But its you within my heart
What I am given ,Am to impart
Let them see more
Than a prayer with no care
That, they can find, anywhere
Let your true love be given out
Instead of that false love they talk about
And then they will know ,we're different here
Because its not our love ,but yours we share

A Heart To Heart With God

Photobucket
How can I love, when it hurts so much to lose

Time and time again ,I tell my heart not to

Why can I not go through life

With a heart of stone

No love given, no love shown

Heart, why don't you listen to me

I told you not to love, hurt you would be

Now you sit here broken in two

See what happened, where it got you

Yes that is true, am hurting today

But if I walk through life

Without love, am dead anyway

There would be no God up above

He would not have sent

His only begotten Son through His love

It’s true my child because of love

I sent my Son from Heaven above

It broke my heart but this, also true

I sent Him down to die for you

Without my love you are but dead

But alive again because He bled

And broken hearts He came to mend

That’s why to earth He did descend

So I know my child of great loss

As I watched my Son die on a cross

But know this my child I freely give

My Son to death that you might live

Yet through my power He arose on high

So trusting Him you would not die

I gave no heart that’s made of stone

It’s meant to love just like my own

With sorrow’s ways it will contend

It will get broken, heal and mend

To love and lose these things shall be

But your heart will always belong to me

Small Wooden Cross

SMALL WOODEN CROSS

Sitting quietly looking at the tree
Everyone asleep except for me
Thinking, is this all that we see

There among the twinkling lights
Hung a small wooden cross
Through my mind flew the thoughts
The meaning of Christmas is such a loss

We let our minds wander
To parties, presents and such
Why aren't we thinking of Baby Jesus
Is that asking too much

When He lay in the manger
He was thinking of you and me
That's why He was crucified
So all the world would see

You can't say His name
In courthouses, schools and stores
But Christmas without Christ
Is not Christmas anymore

God forgive us, for we have sinned
Help us put Christ
Back in Christmas again

Thank You Jesus, for the gentle reminder
Thank You Jesus, for letting me see
As I sit quietly looking at the tree
And the small wooden cross !!!

This poem came about on my family website, we often write together. I will start it off and different members will come back and write a line or two . We have written several children stories like this. Try it, its fun !

Unworthy Of Your Love

I'm unworthy
Of Your love dear Lord
There's nothing I can do
To make myself good enough
To deserve love from You

I feel like the man in scripture
Who couldn't raise his head
With so much sin
And guilt upon him
He smote his breast instead

How in the midnight hours
I think about my day
And the sickness of sin
Tries it's best to settle in
I try my hardest to pray
And i don't know what to say

Thank You God for Your Word
For in my mind I heard
Have mercy upon me O' Lord
As I kneel, in dismay
Create in me a clean heart, O'God
Cast me not away

A broken and contrite heart
O' God , Thou wilt not despise
So I bow down before You
With downcast eyes

And ask forgiveness
Of my sins today
For I am just a sinner
Unworthy In Every Way !!

Off Track

There’s only one boss
In this here land
It’s God Almighty
And in Him I’ll stand
If you’ve got a complaint
Please bring it to me
Don’t take it to the mountain
For all to see
God has seen the tears I’ve shed
Over the hurting words
That’s been said
And the sheild that I grab
Is faith you see
For the firey darts
That you send at me
The shield in one hand
The sword in the other
I go to war
BUT NOT against
Sister and brother
The misuse
Of God’s word
Should have never been
For one’s own purpose
Or to prove
That I’ve sinned
So now you’ve condemned me
To hell and back
Where does that leave us
but OFF TRACK!

I wrote this one for a friend of mind.
Going through a hard time..

The Greatest Commandment

Was it just a commandment of long ago
To love the Lord with all your heart, mind and soul
And to love thy neighbor as thyself

Are we suppose to do this today
To love the Lord in every way
And to give our neighbor a helping hand
And live God’s word on which we stand

The word of God will always remain
The commandments to us are still the same
That we must walk this very way
For we will all stand before Him on Judgment Day.

O' Ye Dry Bones

The shape I’m in
With these dry bones
I’ve been in the valley
Way too long
I’ve lost all hope
There’s nothing left
And everything around me
Is such a mess
My soul cries out
Lord God
You command the wind
Breathe upon me
That I may live again
Then you’ll hear
A shaking going on
I’ll come together
Bone to bone
On my feet I will stand
Your spirit within me
In our own land
And Your word
Will be spoken on
O’ye dry bones

Do You Come By Night

He came to him by night
Instead of day
Where no one could see Him
Or hear what he had to say
He knew He was of God
From the miracles He had done
What was it about Him
That baffled everyone
Verily, verily, I say unto thee
Except a man be born again
He cannot see
Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews
Thought about that
And became very confused
To be born again
How can that be
To enter my mother’s womb
After she had me
Jesus answered
And said unto him
Except a man be born of water
And of the Spirit
He cannot enter in
Flesh is flesh
Spirit is Spirit
Where the wind blows
You can hear it
But cannot tell
Where it comes, or
Whither it goes
We speak that we know
Told of that we’ve seen
Would it make a difference
If it were earthly or heavenly things
The Son of Man must be lifted up
To have eternal life
Do you come by day, or
Do you come by night!!

God's Only Begotten Son

When it’s all over
And all said and done
Was it for you that you did it
Or God’s only begotten Son
Did you lay your treasures down here below
Or store them in heaven as you were told
For where your treasure is
There will your heart be also
We were bought by His blood
For He paid the price
He hung on that cross as our sacrifice
The pain He endured
Was more than anyone could bare
For the sins of the world
Were upon Him as He hung there
His crown was of thorns
His blood was shed
When He said, “It is finished”
And bowed His head
Not a bone was broken
So they pierced His side
That the scripture would be fulfilled
The day Jesus died
So when it was all over
And all said and done
It was for us that he did it
GOD’S ONLY BEGOTTEN SON

God Spoke No Idle Words

God spoke no idle words
When He spoke, it was heard
What He spoke, it came about
It is the word of God,
without any doubt
For years and years
They tried to tear it down
Say it’s not of God
Or turn it around
They tried to conform it to
their foolish ways
And make it fit in their
lifestyle today
They say it is written by
just mere men
When God was the One
who instructed them
To write it in a book
Where the churches
would know
That He is Alpha
and Omega
the beginning and the end
To turn from their wicked
ways and repent of their sins
He that hath an ear
let it be heard
GOD SPOKE NO IDLE WORDS

In The Silence I Hear You Speak

In the silence I hear you speak
Manna from Heaven
That tastes so sweet
With a still small voice
You commune with me
It is of your Word, that I do eat
It is of You, that I do drink
The words You speak
They are Spirit
And they are life unto me
I think about the twelve that day
When You ask them
Will ye also go away
Peter, answered, “You Lord..
To whom shall we go
Thou hast the Words of eternal life
And we believe and are sure
That Thou art that Christ
Lord, You’re ever before me
My heart belongs to Thee
And I will eat of Your flesh
And drink Your blood indeed
It’s manna from heaven
That tastes so sweet
in The Silence, I Hear You Speak!

In You Lord

In You Lord I do believe
In things I do not see
If I look at circumstance
The future seems dim
Without and chance
Of hope for tomorrow
Or even today
The sadness, heartache
Turmoil, dismay
Without You Lord
There’s no where to go
No one to turn to
Or nothing to show
But a life of emptiness
Selfishly lived
For one’s own purpose
With nothing to give
In You Lord
The hope You bring
Is in the evidence
Of things not seen
Like Abraham and Isaac too
I look for a city built by you
By faith they did believe
In a promise they did not receive
But having seen them afar off
Were persuaded and embraced them
Now we wait in accord
For that promise
In You Lord.

Jacob's Dream

The ladder stretched forth
From earth to heaven
Between God and man
For the angels of God
Did ascend and descend
You see this come to pass
In Matthew and Luke when
They write of the genealogy
Jesus came through
A promise fulfilled
The birth of Jesus
Our Savior and King
God had given in
Jacob’s Dream

Moonvine

There’s a mystery behind
This unusual flower
That comes forth
During the moonlight hour

Blooming to the lesser light
This beautiful white blossom
That came to me at night

The voice of my Beloved knocks
A sweet smelling scent from Thee
Saying, open my love
Come sup with Me

Then by the break of dawn
He closes the Door
The beauty is gone

Deep Within

I was found in the Ozarks
By a woman and man
Who turned me into
The lamp that I am

Some might have seen me
As an old dead limb
No good for nothing but
The burn pile to them

The couple looked at me
In such a way
The outer layers didn’t
Matter that day

What they were looking for
Was deep within
Is the heart still good
Can it be used again

Was there anything left
Of this old tree
Was I too far gone
Was this the end of me

They work and work
With their loving hands
And found the beautiful
Heart that was
Deep Within

Old Country Lane

Old Country Lane

We went riding down a old country lane
The beautiful colors remind me of Maine
I thought about my younger years
The joy ,happiness,sadness and tears
My mom and dad ,sister and brother
Love we had for one another
And all the things that we’ve been through
Has just strengthen my love for you
The peace that came to us that day
In the beautiful colors along the way
Years have passed by
a lot of things have changed
But I still look back on that
Old Country Lane..

The Open Letter

The Open Letter

My love hath awakened me
In the mist of the night
An open letter was lying there
I held it to my breast
Love was in the air
His very presence
Radiated the whole room
Like a drink
I wanted greedily to consume
Within the letter
He professed His love
In ways I've never known
Told me He's a jealous God
To Him I belong
There will be no others
I'll fulfill your needs
And everything you say and do
You'll do as unto Me
My cloak is woven upon your heart
For Me, you'll stay true
Never more to part
At the close of the letter
Signed with His blood
Prepare, for I am coming
To claim My love
And from this dream, I did wake
The bible held to my breast
I had drifted off to sleep
After reading, Solomon's quest

My Heart Again

In the mountains
In the valleys
Pasture of green
In the lakes
In the creeks
In the littlest of things
Everywhere I looked
I saw You there
But in my heart
I needed you here
I went by the mountains
To a place below
There dear Lord
Your springs did flow
Down by the valley
Running among the hills
Your love came over me
I surrender my will
On the wings of the wind
You filled my thirst within
And returned unto me
My Heart Again.

Do You Believe In Me

What do I do now
How do I begin
When I had faith in God
To the very end
I ‘ve seen no mountains move
No sickness healed
Everything I was hoping for
Nothing was revealed
My heart cry’s out
God, how can this be
He answered me quietly
Do you believe in me
For the things that are seen
Or will you trust me
In whatever life brings
Faith is required of you this day
To believe in things not seen
Is the only way
Death has no sting
It’s not the very end
Only a small part of life
Where it truly begins
You see through a glass darkly
You do not understand
The things I have waiting
Not known by man
My heart cry’s out
God, how can this be
He answered me quietly
Do You Believe In Me

Blood's Grace

Blood's Grace

The flowing blood turned into Grace
Covering the existence of the human race
The atonement of Jesus
For all who's lost
Reconciliation of God to man
The perfect sacrifice
When the blood ran
Saving our souls from sin and death
Salvation came and stood the test
Worthy above all
Yet He walked among men
And suffered greatly at their hands
The love He showed for mankind
Was the greatest of Love
As He hung there, dieing
The Lamb of God that was slain
Without spot or blemish
Yet He bared the pain
By His grace we are saved
On the cross was the price He paid
He conquered death an the bowels of hell
Claiming the keys
When the blood flowed around those nails
And in Him, I'll put my faith
Am standing upon Blood's Grace

Milk Replacer For Our Babes

Is this what’s in our churches today
Milk replacer to feed our babes
Is this what it’s come down to
You replace God with a substitute
Feed them little sermonetts
And if there in trouble
A program they’ll get
Don’t preach to long
Don’t preach about hell
Preach a loving Gospel
And you’ll do well
Take those altars way out back
Cause you don’t have time for that
Got a get together
Right after church
Having dinner on the ground
Those women
Are the best cooks in town
Finish eating and off you go
Boy this traffic is moving slow
In a hurry, gotta get home
Missing that big game going on
Wow, just in time to see that play
Man that made the rest of your day
And you wonder what’s going on
Why their not that strong
Lets see what you fed them today
Milk replacer for our babes!

The Ruby Red Birthstone

This birthstone I wear
Within my heart
Color of ruby red
Jesus did impart

Not something seen
On the outside for show
His most precious jewel
With a inner glow

This kind of stone
Is formed only by Him
He’s the Master Refiner
Of this special gem

A stone by His blood
On the cross was made
In ruby red blood drops
Love was on display

Each drop that ran
Told of His love
It fell upon me
In the form of His blood

My life, My love
To Him I belong
I wear within my heart
The Ruby Red Birthstone

A Day Of Reckoning

Sin of sin’s
Death of death’s
Call it, for what it is
There’s nothing left

Day of reckoning
Will be to late
Last Judgment comes
You've sealed your fate

God is not mocked
You reap what you sow
For the life you lived
Do not pass go

Go directly to jail
No bondsman
No bail

On trial --For the rejection of
The Lord Jesus Christ

Verdict--Found guilty

Sentence--Pay the price

No pardon

Destination--Eternal Damnation
Clear the way
Dead man walking
Another soul lost today.

This has no fairy tale ending
And I realize the harshness of it
I was reluctant to write it
But in the end
Its reality.

Lord I Wish I Could

Lord, I wish I could tell You
I’ll do everything right
But I’ll stumble and fall
And that would become a lie

Lord, I wish I could tell You
I have not gossiped or lied
Or envied my brother
Or even despised

Lord, I wish I could tell You
I have not felt hate
Or anger and pride
Has not sat on my plate

Lord, I wish I could tell You
I’m the meekest little thing
And goodness and gentleness
Is rolling off my wings
And love, peace and joy

Follow me around
And temperance, faith
And longsuffering
In me they do abound
Lord, I wish I could !

A Heart To Heart With God

How can I love, when it hurts so much to lose

Time and time again ,I tell my heart not to

Why can I not go through life

With a heart of stone

No love given, no love shown

Heart, why don't you listen to me

I told you not to love, hurt you would be

Now you sit here broken in two

See what happened, where it got you

Yes that is true, am hurting today

But if I walk through life

Without love, am dead anyway

There would be no God up above

He would not have sent

His only begotten Son through His love

It’s true my child because of love

I sent my Son from Heaven above

It broke my heart but this, also true

I sent Him down to die for you

Without my love you are but dead

But alive again because He bled

And broken hearts He came to mend

That’s why to earth He did descend

So I know my child of great loss

As I watched my Son die on a cross

But know this my child I freely give

My Son to death that you might live

Yet through my power He arose on high

So trusting Him you would not die

I gave no heart that’s made of stone

It’s meant to love just like my own

With sorrow’s ways it will contend

It will get broken, heal and mend

To love and lose these things shall be

But your heart will always belong to me
